FOX6Now.com and Wisconsin Firewood are teaming up to help keep you a little bit warmer this winter.
We're giving away a 1/4 cord of birch firewood. It's the easiest to burn, produces a lot of flame and gives off a lot of heat. The wood is split exceptionally small for easier handling. It's clean, dry, and ready to burn. This is a prize with an estimated value of $150.
Wisconsin Firewood gets its wood from the back end of logging operations. They buy the tops of the trees and cull logs the loggers leave behind. A crew cuts, splits and loads the firewood onto a truck and transports the firewood to a yard located on the south end of Mitchell International Airport where it's stored and aged for six months to a year.
